At the age of 13, I got a computer and my friends asked me if I wanted to learn how to edit videos for their YouTube channel. From there, I spent the next 5 years editing game play, live action, and animated videos for them, as well as co-hosting in a number of episodes. Unfortunately once we all turned 18, the channel fizzled out as we went to college. Inspired by my love of editing, I decided to pursue an education in film. I attended Fairleigh Dickinson University where I graduated with a BA in Film/Animation - Directing and a Music Minor. I was able to do an internship with the Black Inventors Hall of Fame, where we filmed a documentary about the restoration of the Kruger-Scott Mansion in Newark, NJ, chronicling the artistry of the craftsmen brought in from around the world to breathe life into the once abandoned Victorian Home. Since then, I have moved to New York City, where I have been working small gigs and retail, as my arrival in the city happened to coincide with the beginning of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. I have 11+ years of experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, going back to CS6, and wanted to come on here to get back to my roots. YouTube has always been a part of my life, and is still one of my favorite forms of entertainment. Getting to help a content creator make videos that could inspire others to go on the path I did would not only be gratifying, but a dream come true.

I've been a filmmaker for the past 6 years. I have learned a lot through courses, and YouTube channels, but also on the go, with a lot of mistakes. I recently became a Video Project Manager for a company creating educational content for therapists. Let's talk about the elephant in the room. Yes, AI is here to stay and we should probably learn how to work with it rather than against it -at least that's what I'm choosing to do. I'm passionate about working with genuine people. I love editing videos and i love to find the right pace for each video. Also, I can produce my own soundtrack for videos. I started editing and producing as a hobby but now that I need a job I'm trying to unify the things I need and the things I like. I am an experienced researcher and writer, most recently writing weekly scripts for Scary Interesting. I specialize in writing properly cited, well-researched work on the fields of mystery, historical events, disasters, true crime, and anything historical. I can turn my hand to other fields, such as science and commentary. I have a PhD in emotion research and history. I am also a published writer. My first book, A Human History of Emotion (also know as Homo Emoticus) was translated into more than 20 languages. I'm currently working on the follow-up. I focus on showing not telling, writing scripts as narrative stories that drive retention and engagement and keep viewers riveted. I have been video editing as a hobby for years and am now looking to branching out into a more professional role. I am experienced in short form content, but able and willing to work on longer projects. I am most comfortable working in Adobe After Effects. I consider myself to be able to work in a variety of styles. I can do anything from splicing clips together to advanced motion graphics. My carer in Video Production started as a hobby, filming and editing home videos and live events and immediately felt in love with it.
