About the Role
Andrew Li Racing is building a content-driven youth kart racing brand around Andrew’s racing journey. Andrew is 10 years old and races go-karts. The goal is to grow YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and short-form racing content into a real audience-driven brand that can eventually help attract sponsors, monetize content, and support future racing.
This is not just a basic video editing role. We are looking for a part-time creator-minded editor who can also think like a producer. The right person should be able to help turn race weekends, practice days, garage work, paddock moments, race results, mistakes, wins, and behind-the-scenes footage into short-form content people want to watch.
The first priority is short-form content: YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and similar vertical videos. Over time, this could expand into longer YouTube episodes, sponsor content, race recaps, and a more repeatable show format.
Current sample videos are older reference videos and are not the final direction. We are looking for someone who can help improve the content strategy, editing style, hooks, captions, and overall storytelling from here.

What You’ll Help With
- Editing short-form racing/sports content with strong pacing
- Creating hooks, captions, titles, and basic posting ideas
- Suggesting simple shot lists before race weekends
- Helping identify repeatable content ideas and series formats
- Turning imperfect footage into usable content
- Helping make Andrew’s racing journey feel like a real creator-style show
Ideal Candidate
The right person understands creator-style content, not just clean editing. You should be able to look at raw racing, paddock, garage, and talking footage and help identify the story, the hook, and the best way to turn it into short-form content.
Houston or Texas-based applicants are a plus, especially if you can occasionally attend karting or racing events, but this can be remote for the right person.
Requirements
- Experience editing short-form vertical content
- Portfolio examples of Shorts, Reels, or TikTok-style edits
- Ability to work with race footage, garage footage, talking clips, and behind-the-scenes content
- Ability to suggest content ideas, not just wait for exact editing instructions
- Comfortable working around a youth racing brand and keeping all content family-friendly, sponsor-friendly, and appropriate
- All communication, approvals, and planning will go through the parent/brand owner
- Basic knowledge of motorsports, racing, sports content, or action/sports storytelling is a plus
Tools are flexible. Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, Canva, Frame.io, or similar tools are all acceptable as long as the final work is strong.
When applying, please include:
- Links to short-form videos you have edited
- Any racing, sports, automotive, or action-content examples
- Your hourly rate or preferred pricing structure
- A short note on how you would approach turning one race weekend into multiple Shorts/Reels
We are starting part-time and want to keep the process simple. The role may begin with a small paid test edit before moving into ongoing work.
