We are looking for a YouTube video editor for Cosmoknowledge, a science and space education brand creating videos about astronomy, space exploration, physics, and the universe.
This is not just a technical editing role. We need someone who understands YouTube audience retention, but also has a real interest in astronomy, space, and science content. Ideally, you already understand this world well enough to instinctively know what visuals, pacing, references, and storytelling choices make this kind of content more engaging.
Our long-form videos are typically around 10 minutes in length, so we are looking for someone who knows how to keep viewers engaged throughout a full educational video, not just create flashy moments.
Our long-form videos are typically around 10 minutes in length, so we are looking for someone who knows how to keep viewers engaged throughout a full educational video, not just create flashy moments.
We are especially looking for someone who understands astronomy or closely follows space and science. You do not need to be a scientist, but you should be genuinely familiar with the topics and excited to work on them. If you already edit science, documentary, explainer, or space-related content, that is a big plus.
What you’ll be doing:
- Editing long-form YouTube videos, usually around 10 minutes, focused on astronomy, space exploration, physics, and the universe
- Improving audience retention through pacing, structure, pattern interrupts, visual resets, and strong storytelling
- Using graphics, stock footage, sound design, text, zooms, and motion elements where appropriate to make videos more engaging
- Working with our team to turn scripts and rough cuts into polished final videos
- Helping shape videos that are educational, visually appealing, and optimized for YouTube
You’re a great fit if you:
- Have experience editing YouTube videos with a strong understanding of audience retention
- Have a genuine interest in astronomy, space, physics, or science content
- Have worked on educational, documentary, explainer, or science-related videos
- Can make complex topics feel exciting, clear, and easy to follow
- Have a strong sense of pacing, structure, and storytelling
- Can communicate clearly and work reliably
To apply, please send:
- 3 to 5 relevant editing samples, preferably long-form YouTube videos
- Any examples of educational, science, astronomy, documentary, or explainer content
- A short note about your interest or familiarity with astronomy and space
- A short note on your editing process and how you think about audience retention
- Your rates and availability
We care a lot about quality, clarity, and long-term collaboration, and we are looking for someone who can become an important part of our creative process.
