About the Role
I run BennyBuildsRobots, an educational YouTube channel focused on VEX Robotics programming — specifically tutorials on autonomous templates, LemLib, PID tuning, and competition-level coding. I'm looking for a part-time video editor to help me turn screen recordings and IRL robot footage into clean, engaging tutorials.
What You'll Be Doing
Editing 5–8 minute tutorial videos from raw screenshare and IRL footage. Typical edits include: cutting dead air and compile time, zooming into relevant code sections, adding clean text overlays (variable names, PID values, segment labels), simple transitions between segments, and syncing voiceover with visuals. Occasionally splitting the screen between code and robot footage side by side.
I already have detailed production plans and cut lists for each video — you won't be guessing what goes where. I just need someone who can make the final product feel polished without being flashy.
What Makes You a Fit
- Experience editing tutorial or educational content (coding, tech, or engineering preferred)
- Comfortable with screenshare footage and knowing where to zoom/crop
- Comfortable with IRL footage, and talking head style content
- Clean text overlay and lower-third work
- Can work with minimal direction once you understand the style
- Bonus: any interest in robotics, programming, or STEM content
Details
Starting with a 3-video series (already planned), with more content in the pipeline. Budget is limited but fair for the scope — happy to discuss per-video rates. Looking for someone who wants to grow with a small channel.
