I'm Makenzie Kingston, Specialist in Communication Strategies, Creative Writing, Event Planning & Coordinating, Project Management, Video Editing, Music Production, and more!
For the latter-half of my career, I have been dedicated to the corporate business world as a Communications Specialist, creating impactful communication strategies to drive employee engagement and connectivity for my employer: 5CA, a multinational corporation. These materials included written communications and multi-level communication strategies/plans, meeting facilitations, presenting and hosting, seminar organizing, Q&A sessions, written and video content creation... And more. My overall job was to ensure consistent and compelling messaging across the entire company, me being the face and voice of the company for the thousands of employees across the globe. Now though, as a passionate writer and musician, I feel a longing for a more creatively fulfilling job, and would love to work with a YouTube content creator!
I studied Sociology and Mass Communications at the University of Valencia and graduated with high regards and recognition for my thesis, in which I dived into the correlation and the cause-and-effect relationship between extreme poverty, drug addiction, and late-stage gentrification in cities. During my student years, I worked in all sorts of jobs: From bar manager in an Irish pub, to a door to door salesman for an electrical company. For nearly three years, I proudly and passionately worked as an English Teacher for a private tutoring company located in Valencia, called ACTIVA S.L.
I was content as a teacher, as I enjoyed watching my students develop the skills and attributes that we worked towards... But then came the Pandemic. As schools closed their doors, I found myself out of work. Due to the situation that the pandemic created, I pursued work-from-home opportunities and discovered 5CA, a multinational gaming and technology based customer support agency.
At 5CA, I worked as a customer support and social media agent for 2 years, moving between different projects and clients. In 2022, my strong work ethic, my commitment to quality, and my long-term dedication and passion for 5CA's core values paid off, as I was accepted into the position of Internal Communications Specialist. And the rest is history!
