A highly creative Modern Linguist with over two decades of experience in education

With twenty years of classroom-based experience as a modern languages educator, I have dedicated my career to making language learning engaging, accessible, and fun.

Since 2018, I have also been a YouTube content creator who produces original song-based learning videos designed to help young learners develop their French and Spanish skills in an interactive way.

The @MonsieurJohnsonMFL YouTube channel brings together my subject knowledge with song videos designed to enhance language acquisition. This project began as a way to support my own students both in the classroom and outside school but has grown into a platform that reaches learners far beyond that - I will have reached a million views by July.

I use a combination of karaoke backing tracks, the Voloco and iMovie apps to create content which relates directly to commercially produced schemes of learning, and therefore enhances children’s classroom experience.

I believe that education is evolving, and I’m excited to be part of that transformation.

My skills extend beyond traditional teaching: I have experience in song writing and recording, video editing and audience engagement. I bring a unique skill set that bridges education and digital media.

I am eager to further develop as an online educator. I would love to collaborate on projects that push the boundaries of educational content creation, making learning dynamic, accessible, and entertaining for audiences worldwide.
