Editor with Film/Directing degree inspired by independent content creation
Private informationDescription
At the age of 13, I got a computer and my friends asked me if I wanted to learn how to edit videos for their YouTube channel. From there, I spent the next 5 years editing game play, live action, and animated videos for them, as well as co-hosting in a number of episodes. Unfortunately once we all turned 18, the channel fizzled out as we went to college. Inspired by my love of editing, I decided to pursue an education in film. I attended Fairleigh Dickinson University where I graduated with a BA in Film/Animation - Directing and a Music Minor.
I was able to do an internship with the Black Inventors Hall of Fame, where we filmed a documentary about the restoration of the Kruger-Scott Mansion in Newark, NJ, chronicling the artistry of the craftsmen brought in from around the world to breathe life into the once abandoned Victorian Home. Since then, I have moved to New York City, where I have been working small gigs and retail, as my arrival in the city happened to coincide with the beginning of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
I have 11+ years of experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, going back to CS6, and wanted to come on here to get back to my roots. YouTube has always been a part of my life, and is still one of my favorite forms of entertainment. Getting to help a content creator make videos that could inspire others to go on the path I did would not only be gratifying, but a dream come true.
