AARP Studios is looking for a content manager to help us optimize content performance, grow new audiences and increase engagement on our YouTube channels. 

This position is a full-time contract position and will work out of AARP headquarters in Washington, DC on AARP's hybrid schedule. Remote work considered, but not preferred. 

Salary Range: 65k - 85k Annually

SUMMARY
The YouTube Content Manager will focus on optimizing, uploading and delivering content to AARP’s YouTube channels, and will support distribution across AARP’s internal channels. This person will work closely with AARP executives to create and execute content strategy and lead ongoing content optimization efforts.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with the management of AARP YouTube channels to maximize video views and watch-time, increase subscribers and user engagement on the platform
  • Assist with the coordination of new video deliverables, including the creation of titles, thumbnails and descriptions, and other YouTube creative tools (chapters, end cards, playlists, A/B testing, etc.) 
  • Liaise with content strategy team to execute external communications initiatives
  • Monitor performance on published content and execute updates/changes when needed 
  • Execute ongoing content optimization efforts for library video assets; monitor performance on published content and execute updates/changes when needed
  • Coordinate data analytics efforts, including SEO and keyword strategy for all published content and development of new content 
  • Advise on paid campaign strategy and tactics 
  • Monitor and report on YouTube-wide platform trends and best practices 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • YouTube operations and analytics experience required
  • 3+ years of digital entertainment industry or digital media experience preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of success managing detail-oriented projects in a fast-paced creative environment preferred
  • Ability to interpret data to identify patterns and trends, then apply them to stated KPIs and team objectives
  • Must have excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have the ability to work independently while understanding important guidelines and AARP brand sensitivities
  • Experience with TubeBuddy and YouTube certification preferred
