About the channel
I’m a working cinematographer creating YouTube content around cinematography, lighting, and behind-the-scenes breakdowns. I’m looking for a reliable editor to help me scale output and improve quality.
What I need (monthly)
  • 4 videos/month total
    • 2 Behind-the-Scenes (BTS) videos (story-driven, cinematic pacing)
    • 2 Tutorial videos (clear structure, engaging, easy to follow)
Style & editing goals
I want edits that feel premium + cinematic, while still being YouTube-friendly (strong hooks, tight pacing, clean audio).
You should be comfortable with:
  • Building a strong first 15–30 seconds (hook/promise + momentum)
  • Cutting for retention (remove fluff, keep energy)
  • Using music/SFX tastefully (not overdone)
  • Clean, modern text callouts when needed (especially tutorials)
  • Matching tone: BTS can be more “doc” and immersive; tutorials are structured and clear
Typical deliverables per video
  • 1x finished YouTube export (4K or 1080, depending on footage)
  • 1x thumbnail frame/timecode suggestions (optional but appreciated)
  • (Optional, bonus) 2–3 Shorts pulled from each long video
Workflow
  • I’ll provide: footage, audio, any selects if needed, and a rough outline / key beats
  • You’ll provide: first cut → notes round → final cut
  • Turnaround goal: 5–7 days per video (flexible, but consistency matters)
Software
  • Preferred: Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
  • If you use Premiere, being organized with sequences + bins is a big plus.
What I’m looking for
  • Strong portfolio with YouTube long-form edits (bonus if film/cinematography niche)
  • Great pacing instincts
  • Strong audio cleanup / mixing basics
  • Organized, communicative, and can take feedback well
  • Available for ongoing monthly work
To apply, please include
  1. Links to 2–3 YouTube videos you edited (long-form)
  2. What software you edit in
  3. Your monthly rate for 4 videos (2 BTS + 2 tutorial)
  4. Your turnaround time per video
  5. Answer: “What do you do to improve retention in the first 30 seconds?”
Paid test edit (required)
Shortlisted editors will do a paid test: edit 2–3 minutes from provided footage to match my style.
