The Role: Create Engaging Video Content for Language Learners
Are you a fun, charismatic, and engaging on-camera personality who loves creating video content? Sprout, a new language learning platform, is looking for talented "Guides" to create authentic, unscripted videos for English language learners.
This is not a traditional teaching role. We are looking for on-camera content creators to become the face of our platform. Your primary role is to create a large library of engaging, YouTube-style videos on a wide range of topics. The goal is to be a relatable and interesting companion for our learners, helping them acquire English naturally by simply watching and understanding your content. You will be instrumental in building a community of viewers who are excited to follow your journey and, in turn, advance their own.

About Sprout:
Sprout is designed to help people achieve fluency through a fun, effective, and personality-driven method called Comprehensible Input (CI). We're moving away from the impersonal, gamified apps that don't work. Instead, we're building a learning experience that feels less like a course and more like watching your favorite YouTuber, fostering a genuine human connection that makes learning stick.

For more info, see sproutlanguage.com

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create engaging videos for English language learners, tuning your vocabulary and enunciation to create a range of beginner to intermediate content
  • Generate at least 30 videos per month for $50-$100 per video, averaging around 15 minutes each.
  • Effectively leverage visuals like drawings, props, and gestures to accompany your words in beginner content, making your meaning clear without translation.
  • Generate a constant stream of ideas for new videos. Personal stories, history lessons, travel vlogs, acted-out scenes—whatever you enjoy and know that viewers will find interesting!
  • For more in-depth topics, organize and create compelling video mini-series.
  • Collaborate with other guides on fun, multi-person videos, such as game shows and informal chats.
  • Be your authentic, relatable, and consistently engaging self. The goal is to build a following of engaged viewers who want to keep watching your content and learning more about you.

Key Criteria / Background:
  • Must be a native English speaker (with a US, UK, or Australian accent).
  • Must be very fun, charismatic, and engaging in front of a camera.
  • Background in acting or content creation (YouTube, TikTok, etc.) is highly preferred.
  • Prior English teaching experience is a plus, but not required.

To Apply:
Send us an email with a short description of your background / why you would be a good fit.

Include a link to a short video that showcases your content or just your personality. Existing content (like a YouTube or TikTok video) is perfectly fine. Alternatively, you can record a simple 2 minute video introducing yourself and explaining some ideas of what you'd do or talk about in your videos for the platform.

Applications without a video link will not be considered.
