Hello, My name is Donovan DeGuardi and I am a digital marketer and video editor, who loves the ocean. I earned my digital marketing degree at Washington State University in May 2022. Before that I learned the ins and outs of computer graphic arts in high school with adobe photoshop and illustrator and my passion began.
While at college I learned how to animate using adobe after effects and I started my camera operating as well. Once I graduated I moved back home to Moorpark CA where I began scuba diving and spearfishing. I created my own brand known as "Donnie lobster" to promote safe lobster fishing practices and sell merchandise.
Right now I work for a scuba dive center known as "Channel Islands Scuba" by running their social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram) and film/edit all Youtube videos. The Youtube channel is known as "Channelislandsscuba", note that I am the producer not the man actually in the videos. I love my job as a camera man and I have been 60ft down in the pacific to get shots of endangered animals such as the Giant sea bass and cool shots for our intros/outros. The Ocean is my favorite place to be so please reach out if you have any ocean or water content!

As the producer on this project I work all the camera, lightning, mics and stage setup for Larry (The man in the video/shop owner). While the video is being filmed I am wearing headphones behind the camera and letting Larry know whereto stop or keep going. After we establish our cuts we move onto our shots we want, for this video Larry wanted viewers to really see how the ZEOS backplate can be adjusted put together. To show this set up we had up close shots where I am operating the camera while Larry is working. We finish our video and then we go into editing where I edit all audio/video and clips together with Larrys input. Lastly I get the intro and outro added in and then its off to the upload. My strategy for video production is to work closely with the creator and get their input, I want to make their vision a reality. -

For this project Larry wanted to answer one of the most asked questions in diving, how to prevent your dive mask from fogging. In order to show divers and viewers the technique, Larry explains the science and method behind the trick. Then I adjust the camera ad the operator and producer to fit the videos intentions. I always work the camera, set up the stage and get the lighting right for Larry. I also assist Larry with audio I have a headset on when editing and filming these videos. Larry,s goal is to show the simplicity of this task so we decided to make the video shorter. Once we got all our shots we head to the office and I start combining all clips, intros, outros and other edits we want to make. I also then cut some video clips to use for reels, facebook and instagram.
