Editor specializing in storytelling vlogs with 3 months of experience
Informations privéesDescription
Recently got into editing vlog-type content for my own Youtube channel, and learned that I want to do it for other creators! I also edit educational-type of content, particularly, those trying to copy Ali Abdaal. Realizing that I can easily learn any style as long as I'm excited about it and take some time to learn it.
I'm also very strategic as a creator, so I can offer to see gaps on your production process, your content, and your overall strategy so we can drive for better performance for your Youtube business!
I'm honestly just a beginner at this, but I believe I can learn things on-the-go!

This project involved a lot of work from pre-production, production, and post-production.
For pre-production, I planned the type of vlog and setting I would be creating based on the existing footage I have from the trip to the Car Meet. For production, I did some on-the-spot planning for the b-rolls of this whole Youtube video (e.g. clips of me cooking, doing laundry, etc.).
For post production, I did a lot of strategizing for the sound design, color grading, and overall storytelling using b-roll and talking head clips.
I edited the video using Adobe Premiere Pro and created my thumbnail using Canva with the simple idea of creating images that make the subjects pop, and using bold text with a color contrasting from the background. -

This is my 2nd best performing video since I started editing and posting in October of 2024.
With this one, I handled shooting all the clips included in the video.
For production, I edited using Adobe Premiere Pro and wanted to go for a playful talking head type video because I had more A-roll shots to work with. Was able to shoot some b-roll of me cooking as well, so was able to have fun with including that part into the editing.
Sound design and motion graphics were done through Adobe Premiere Pro, where I just made use of Youtube Studio's existing database of music and sound effects.
Thumbnail was made using Canva, this time focusing on making the subject (me) pop by clipping the subject from the background, adding background blur, and increasing contrast and shadows. Also used bold text that passes behind the subject in-line with the existing trend with such thumbnail designs. -

Video Editing and Thumbnail Design for Matthew D'haemer
En savoir plus
Matthew D'haemer trusted me to edit his A-roll talking head into a compelling video.
I edited using Adobe Premiere Pro and added effects like zoom transitions, light leaks, and more, to move his narration forward throughout the video.
For this video, I focused more on pacing it a lot slower than the other videos, since the mood of the video calls for calm.
Stock footages were taken from Youtube video documentaries about the same topic he talks about, clipped as b-roll on top of his narration to better convey what he is talking about. -

This was the first vlog video I released for my Youtube Channel!
It's mostly a talking head A-roll where I share about my thoughts on creating a Youtube Channel and why I'm starting this 2024.
Edit was fairly simple for this one since I did not have much B-roll to work with.
Edited using Adobe Premiere Pro. The thumbnail was edited using Canva.
