Editor and writer with over a decade of experience.
Informations privéesDescription
I'm a self-taught video and audio editor with 20 years of experience. I started out recording original music in ProTools, and later GarageBand and LogicPro. My video editing started with recording my high school band live and editing in iMovie (it was free!) but I recently graduated to Wondershare Filmora. However, I'm a fast learner and happy to use other software if requested.
Last year my YouTube channel hit 1,000 subscribers and is still growing. It's not easy being a lefty political creator, but I've managed to maintain slow but steady growth. This year I was able to increase my output from one video per month to one video per week.
I've recently learned I work best by giving myself time to dive into whatever project I'm working on instead of trying to do a little bit of everything all at once. When I'm working on a video or a song or a class, I put on the metaphorical horse blinders and immerse myself until it's done. This way, if you hire me, I'm all about your project until it's done.
I'm passionate about music. My mom is a music teacher, and she put a violin in my hands when I was six years old, and my life was all about music from then on. I later became an accomplished violist (hands got too big) through high school, and picked up guitar and bass guitar along the way. I've been a songwriter and composer for over 20 years, and learned college level music theory in high school. I continue to write and record my own music as well as requests from other creators.
In addition to the skills I’ve already listed, what sets me apart is a hyperfocus on my work and a penchant for problem-solving. In auditioning for voiceover work, I have encountered numerous upload issues due to very specific file requirements. One of these issues was that the RMS decibel level was too high. I had never heard of this issue, nor had my friend who is a professional audio editor. Forum answers were outdated or otherwise unhelpful. But between trial and error and combined bits of information from online, I discovered that a multiband compressor could reduce the RMS decibel level sufficiently for the upload. I never stop learning, and I refuse to let anything stand in the way of a good final product.
