A short documentary following interesting subjects and the cars they drive. While most shows are about what’s under the hood, this one is about who’s behind the wheel. Take a cruise with some unique people in the car world and let them tell you their story.
BRIEF: This project came about because I was tired of the representation of women in the car world and the repetitive subjects seen on most channels.
I first met Kat at a gathering for the viewers and fans of a YouTube channel run by her
partner. However, it was immediately obvious there was more to tell about her TE72
Corolla wagon.
When the filming day came around the wagon, which is her personal project car, was not road ready. Although we had originally planned on driving shots, as producer/director I came up with a way to film around the production issue. Having gone to school for auto mechanics, her story was one I could personally relate to and it turned out to be just as fun and engaging as the subject.
These were the objectives:
• Tell a story engaging to the car community and beyond
• Encourage a realistic representation of female car enthusiasts
• Edit and shoot my own work
My roles included conceiving, producing, directing, shooting, and editing.
